US Geological Survey
Warren Day is a research geologist with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in Denver, Colorado. He received his undergraduate degree from Washington University, St. Louis, and his doctorate in geology and geophysics from the University of Minnesota. Warren has focused on regional framework geology, the evolution of ore-forming systems, and mineral resource studies for the USGS for over 35 years. He has held numerous management positions in the organization all the while conducting geologic fieldwork and environmental geology projects. He currently is part of a team of USGS scientist studying the origin of iron oxide-copper-gold deposit systems in the Midcontinent region of the US, the results of which are summarized for this conference.
